How do I explain what Helm does?
If you need to describe Helm to your supporters, you can share the following information with them:
Helm is a youthwork charity, based in Dundee and supporting young people across Tayside. Helm enables excluded and disadvantaged young people with complex challenges to engage with employability, vocational and life skills training so they can break cycles of underachievement and deprivation and move forward to a brighter, happier future.
How do I set up the perfect Just Giving page for Helm?
Start by setting up your page!
Visit www.justgiving.co.uk and follow the step-by-step guide to setting up a page. Don’t forget to make sure it’s Helm you’re fundraising for. Double check you can see our logo when you select your charity!
Make it personal! Edit the text to tell your fundraising story. Statistics show that a personalised page receives more donations.
Add a photo of yourself, set a fundraising target and tell your donors what your event or challenge means to you. Let your supporters know why you’re supporting Helm and what it means to you personally.
Tell the world! Start sharing your page on social media and email it to your family and friends and at your workplace. Don’t be shy of sending your page around more than once – you can’t guarantee that everyone will have seen it the first time so share a couple of times on social media.
How do I pay in my donation?
You can pay your donation directly to Helm through our Just Giving page.

How will the money raised be spent?
Our life-changing work enables young people to dare to dream about their futures by enabling them to move to positive destinations and see a positive future for themselves. Every penny raised will be directing towards supporting young people from Tayside and beyond.
Can I donate money to a particular project?
We aim to support the young people who needs us most so for this reason we’d really like your donations to be ‘unrestricted’. This means that you are not restricting what project your fundraising and donations are spent on. It also helps our work to be more efficient by reducing our administration costs, making your money and donations reach more young people.
How much of Helm’s income is spent its charitable activities?
Helm’s income for 2021/22 was £1,034,113 and mostly comprised statutory funding and trust and foundation funding. 91% of expenditure this year was spent on our charitable activities, a figure Helm is proud to celebrate.
How can I volunteer for Helm?
